STAFF at a Nettlebed hospice are putting their best feet forward by trekking along Hadrian's Wall to raise cash for charity.
The team will be joined by 50 other supporters in a bid to raise more than £25,000 for the Sue Ryder hospice, which supports people living with illnesses including cancer, multiple sclerosis and dementia.
The two day trek, starting on Saturday, April 9, will take in 84 miles of woodland through a World Heritage Site in Cumbria.
Elise Hoadley, hospice manager, said: "On a daily basis I see the wonderful care which takes place every day at the hospice, which simply could not happen without the £1.4m needed every year from fundraising events."
Meanwhile, fundraisers lit up the town centre on Friday [4], donning flashing bunny ears and sparkly cowboy hats to attract women to sign up to Reading's Midnight Walk.
The team of volunteers handed out fliers and urged people to take part in the event, which will see women from across the area unite in Green Park for the 10K walk on Saturday, May 14, to raise more money for the hospice.
Kelly Gibson, Sue Ryder fundraiser, said: "The Midnight Walk is in its third year and has raised over £140,000 for the Nettlebed Hospice. We urge ladies to sign up to this fantastic event, which always has a brilliant atmosphere. We are hoping for our biggest turn out yet, so come along with all your female friends and family and enjoy yourself whilst raising vital funds for charity."
Midnight Walk participants can register at last year's fee of £12 until Monday, February 28. Entry after that costs £15. For more information, call 01491 641265 or email fundraising.nettlebed@sueryder
