Driven to succeed: Tim Fennell, sales manager for Thames Fiat with Jaroslav Cesky, Player of the Year, and Michal Pinc at Thames Fiat's Bath Road dealership in Slough.

On September 14, Thames Fiat renewed its sponsorship of Bracknell Bees ice hockey team for a fourth year in succession, representing a welcome boost to the team's English Premier Ice Hockey League (EPIHL) campaign of 2010 into 2011.

The Bath Road dealership in Slough, which recently topped the sales leaderboard for the most Fiat cars sold in the country, has made available two 06 dual branded Fiat 500 cars for Bees' Czech players Michal Pinc, Valdemar Pelikovsky and 2009/10 EPIHL Player of the Year, Jaroslav Cesky.

Bees team owner, Katie Eleftheriou, said: "We take pride in everything that we do at the Hive and therefore feel proud that Thames Fiat has decided to renew its commitment with us for a fourth term.

"Thames Fiat has a long standing association with sport in the community, particularly young people, and aligns itself to being forward thinking, which is something that we're also very passionate about and committed too for the long haul.

"Thames' association with key Bees' talent will not only help to promote the club to the wider audience, but enable us, through the ambitions of new head coach Gareth Cox, to build a stronger, faster and more entertaining team."

Tim Fennell, sales manager for Thames Fiat, said: "As a business, we have always been keen to invest in young talent and encourage those who want to advance themselves to do so. The management team at Bracknell Bees is extremely dedicated in what they do and shares our approach by looking to drive opportunities for young people in the local community - and provide them with a club that they can feel proud to be associated with.

"At Thames, we never look at any sponsorship term as a figure or a number, more so a period of ongoing investment. Our goal-set and corporate responsibility is carefully thought-out to help nurture some of the best local talent around, and make the impossible possible,"

Bracknell Bees was founded in 1987 and now under Bees' Ice Management Ltd, led by Katie Eleftheriou, the club is a major player within the national English Premier Ice Hockey league, of which they were crowned champions in 2007. Attracting local and international talent, the Bees currently has among its players, three stars from the Czech Republic and one from Slovakia.

Established in 1986, Thames Fiat is a premier brand in the automotive industry and its flagship dealership, on the Bath Road, is supported by branches in Croydon and Tunbridge Wells.

The Thames brand has been synonymous with thought-leadership and innovation for many years and remains a key driving force across Berkshire. In 2009, Thames Fiat scooped the accolade for having sold the most Fiat cars out of 180 registered dealerships.
