A MIDDLE AGED driver made a lucky escape when his car caught fire on a busy main road today (Friday).

The man, believed to be in his 50s, was driving along the A4 London Road at midday when his Vauxhall Astra overheated and burst into flames close to Sutton’s Business Park.

He managed to pull over onto a grass verge and escape unharmed before a crew from Wokingham Road fire station put out the flames.
