HEARTLESS burglars raided a 91-year-old woman’s house after a doorstep con.

The pensioner had invited three men into her Sherwood Street home between noon and 4pm on Tuesday when they knocked on her door claiming drainage work had to be done. They stole £2,000 in cash.

Detective Constable Lynsey Kania said: “This is an awful crime where three men have deliberately targeted an elderly, vulnerable lady and taken advantage of her trust.”
