POLICE are warning villagers to stay vigilant after burglars swooped on two houses in Sonning Common.

Intruders used a blunt instrument to force open a window at a house in Reades Lane at around 9.15pm on Friday but fled empty handed after triggering the burglar alarm.

There was also an attempted break in at a house in Kennylands Road between 7.30pm the same day and 8am on Saturday but failed to force open a first floor window after standing on a table.

Witnesses should contact police on 0845 8505 505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
