FAMILIES could have a busy day on the buses when drivers throw open the doors to their depot tomorrow (Sunday).
Reading Buses will run a free vintage shuttle bus from the town centre to its Great Knollys Street headquarters for its third annual open day on Sunday.
Visitors can see the buses of yesteryear, explore the workshops, take a peek behind the scenes in the bus control room or even cool down in the bus wash. Mayor of Reading Cllr Gul Khan, a former conductor and trolleybus driver, will open the proceedings at 11am and there will be a barbecue, face-painting, raffle and loads of bus displays, paraphernalia and enthusiasm. The free open day goes on until 4pm and money raised goes to Help for Heroes.
