A FIFTH man has been arrested following a gangland-style street corner shooting in Reading.

The victim, a 25-year-old man, was hit in the arm and both legs by gunshots as he stood on the corner of Grange Avenue and Wokingham Road at 11.15pm last Sunday (June 6).

Friends took him to the Royal Berkshire Hospital where he remains under police guard.

Thames Valley Police have made a fifth arrest today (Monday) when a 31-year-old man from Whitley was held on suspicion of attempted murder. He remains in police custody.

Four other men have been bailed to report back to Loddon Valley Station in August.

Officers arrested a 25-year-old man from the Oxford Road area on Sunday (13/06)

Another man, also 25, from Tilehurst, was arrested on Friday night (11/6)

Last week a 27-year-old man and a 32-year-old man were also arrested and have also been released on bail.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to contact them on 08458 505505, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
