RAIDERS have made off with cash and cigarettes from the village sub post office in Purley.

Purley Rise Stores was hit at around 6.20am on Saturday when two men wearing fluorescent vests over their black jackets forced their way in with a crowbar. They ripped out the till, containing £100 cash, and grabbed 200 packs of cigarettes before fleeing through the front door.

They were last seen driving off in a blue 3-series BMW in the direction of Reading.

Anyone with information should contact Detective Constable John Yallop via Newbury police station on 08458 505 505.
