Four held after arson attacks

POLICE have arrested four teenagers in connection with a spate of arsons in Calcot and Theale.

Reading Bowl staff evacuated more than 60 people when thugs set fire to neighbouring derelict J12 Club in Pincents Lane at 3.45pm on Saturday [6] and 12.45pm on Sunday [7].

Officers were also called to two grass fires in Alderfield Close, Theale, and Pincents Lane at 1.15pm and 5.40pm on Sunday.

Two 13-year-olds, a 14 year-old and a 15-year-old, all from Calcot and Theale, have been arrested on suspicion of arson and bailed to return to Newbury police station on Sunday April 4. The 14-year-old has also been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage.
