Drug dealer behind bars

A DRUG dealer caught smuggling heroin in his underwear has been jailed for more than two years.

Daniel Mark Smith, 27, of William Street, west Reading, appeared in Reading Crown Court on Tuesday [2] last week where he was sentenced to 20 months in jail after pleading guilty to possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply.

Police arrested Smith on Tuesday September 29 after finding 23 heroin wraps in his boxer shorts and one in his mouth.

Detective Constable Jason Evans, who is part of anti-drugs task force Operation Falcon said: "This sentence demonstrates the commitment from both police and the courts to deal with drug dealers robustly and we hope it sends out a strong message to anyone supplying drugs in Reading."
