FIREFIGHTERS needed a steady hand as they meticulously removed a ring from a man's finger.
A crew from Caversham Road were called to the Royal Berkshire Hospital today (Monday) at 4am after staff had struggled to help the patient, a man in his 20s, take off the piece of costume jewellery.
Firefighters spent 45 minutes using an electric hacksaw to cut through the ring to free him.
Fire station watch manager Jerry Davies said: "It was very tight, but with lots of time and effort we managed to get it off."
