A WOMAN was rescued from the River Kennet in Reading by two passers-by after she fell into the freezing water this morning.
The 42-year-old woman fell into the water at County Lock shortly before 8am but her quick thinking rescuers managed to grab her.
Someone dialled 999 but she had already been hauled clear by the time a water rescue team arrived from Caversham Road fire station.
She was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital by ambulance suffering from exposure and cold and was kept in for observation. Her condition is unknown.
