PLANNERS last night deferred their decision on proposals for building 14 homes which would transform part of Pangbourne.
Plans to knock down numbers 14 and 16 Reading Road and neighbouring Meadow Lane House to make way for the homes were expected to be approved by councillors on the recommendation of West Berkshire Council planning officers.
More than 100 letters of objection had been received opposing different aspects of the outline application from Pangbourne Beaver Investments, which is also opposed by Pangbourne Parish Council.
Also on the agenda was a full application to demolish 14 and 16 Reading Road and build a new access road and post office with a flat above it.
Both applications were deferred until the next meeting of the council's eastern area planning committee on March 24 for resolution of "a technical matter".
