A 31-YEAR-OLD man appeared in court today accused of causing the deaths of a Tilehurst couple in a late night road smash.

Matthew Kelliher, of Brunswick Street, Reading, appeared briefly before the town's magistrates to face two charges of causing the deaths of Annelise and Duncan Storrar by dangerous driving on January 27. He was remanded in custody until Monday, February 22.

Teaching assistant Mrs Storrar, 49, and her 54-year-old husband died in Tilehurst Road, west Reading, on January 27 when a Ford Mondeo collided with their Chevrolet Matiz. The couple, who lived in Overdown Road, left two sons David, 23, and Ross, 18, and 22-year-old daughter Kathryn.
