DANYL Johnson is through to the next round of the X Factor.

His stripped-down version of George Michael's Careless Whisper, which he performed on Saturday night, won him a place on next week's show.

Cult favourites John and Edward (AKA Jedward) left after a judge vote.

Danyl's name was announced third on the Sunday night results show, with fellow over-25 Olly Murs and John and Edward battling it out in the sing-off.

Jedward performed No Matter What by Boyzone - one of mentor Louis Walsh's acts - while Olly sang Eric Clapton's Wonderful Tonight.
