Reading's transport funding bid in full

Reading's Transport Innovation Fund bid has more to it than just congestion charging. Here is how the council would spend the £313m if the bid succeeds:

PHASE 1, 2010-2013. £48.42m capital funding and £6.88m revenue funding for:

- Child and adult bus fare subsidies

- More buses, bus routes and new ticketing equipment

- More cycle facilities / expanded cycle network

- Work to start on park and rides, firstly at Three Mile Cross

- More Readibuses

- Work on town centre junctions

- Pedestrian/cycle bridge over Thames

- Reading Station southern concourse

- Junction improvements on bus Premier Routes

PHASE 2, 2014-2016. £136.89m capital funding and £8.24m revenue funding for extensions to phase 1 schemes, plus:

- Initial support for extensive guided-bus network with a hub at Reading Station

- Bus/coach Reading-Bracknell A329(M) link

- Bus improvements in West Berkshire

- Better school buses

- More traffic management technology

- Park and rides at Mapledurham, Calcot, Thames Valley Park Drive and Winnersh Triangle

- Rail upgrades on the Waterloo and Basingstoke lines

- Access improvements at Oxfordshire and West Berkshire stations

- Wokingham Station link road

- Improved rural roads in Oxfordshire

- Walking network

- More bus Premier Routes

PHASE 3, 2017-2021. £98.26m capital funding for extensions to earlier schemes, plus:

- Chineham Station work, Hants.

- Wokingham borough rail stations access improvements

- Park and ride at Play Hatch

- A third Thames crossing
