Walker may have seen attempted sex attack

SOMEONE may have seen the terrifying moment a student was dragged into bushes before fighting off her attacker.
The 20-year-old victim of the attempted sexual assault has said she saw someone walking along The Queen's Drive through Reading University when a man grabbed her in Shinfield Road at 2.30am on Tuesday, September 29.
Detective Sergeant Steve Jennings said: "This person may not have realised the significance of what they had seen and they may have thought that it was people messing around as the incident happened during freshers' week.
"However, it now seems likely that this person may have seen the offender and his bike and therefore could have important information which could lead to an arrest.
"We would urge this person to come forward and contact police. Any information they give will be treated in the strictest confidence."
The attacker was black, in his early twenties, 5ft 7ins tall and of slim build. He had short dreadlocks and wore a white T-shirt and jeans and is described as having very white teeth and a "funny smile". Police believe he followed her from the Kendrick Road area and have also warned female students not to walk alone late at night.
