NEWLY-released crime figures for Caversham and Emmer Green show domestic burglaries were down between June and August in two of the three police areas.

The number of incidents decreased in the North neighbourhood (Caversham Park Village and half of Emmer Green) by five from the same period last year to 28, and by 14 incidents to 28 in the Lower Caversham neighbourhood.

But in the West neighbourhood (Caversham Heights and half of Emmer Green), there were 14 more burglaries this year, bringing the total to 35.

Non-dwelling burglaries, including sheds, offices and garages, were up in all three areas, rising by six incidents in Caversham North on last year to eight, increasing by two incidents in Caversham West to 16 and jumping by seven to 20 in Lower Caversham.
