MORRIS dancers will be giving their support - with bells on - to the campaign to reopen The Jolly Anglers.
The Newtown pub was closed without warning in June but pub regulars launched their Jollydarity drive to get it back on tap and have invited the dancers to perform outside at 7.30pm on Monday.
They have been fighting to get the Kennetside pub reopened after its owner Enterprise Inns sold it to an unnamed buyer with a restrictive covenant banning its use as a public house.
They hope that if the new owner applies to Reading council for permission to convert it to housing, the application will be turned down, creating the possibility that the covenant could be removed.
