A READING-based care agency that supports carers in their homes and also sends staff into residential and day centres has two new reasons to celebrate.

Careline - The Agency For Care Staff marks its 20th anniversary this year and has also maintained its top rating in its latest official inspection.

David Fisher, proprietor of the agency in King's Road, said: "It is an absolute pleasure to be awarded a three-star rating from the Care Quality Commission, it recognises the genuine effort consistently put in by the whole Careline team."

The agency has expanded to cover five counties and now employs 12 office staff, with 150 carers and 6,500 clients on its books. Its staff work with children and adults with a range of needs, allowing their families to have a break or supporting permanent care home staff.

The agency plans to hold a drop-in party with tea and cakes for its current and former employees.
