THE Thames Valley continues to be the top performing area for new investment in the south east.
Thames Valley Economic Partnership's (TVEP) annual review shows that 40 foriegn-owned firms moved here during the 2008/9 year, which will lead to more than 400 new jobs, mostly with fast growing technology firms.
Chief executive Shaun Whittaker said: "It has been a tough year for business, and we are pleased the Thames Valley continues to be an attractive location for global companies who continue with our help to invest here, creating new jobs and investment."
But he warned TVEP must redouble its effort to make sure the growth continues.
There are now more than 2,000 foreign-owned businesses in the Thames Valley.
