NEVER work with children or animals? Try telling that to dog trainer Katy Cropper who will be bringing her own brand of canine capers to the Royal County Game fair in July.

Despite being a dog trainer for more than 25 years, it"s the unpredictability of the shows that still excites her.

'We"re going to be doing all kinds of things,' said Katy, 'So who knows what will happen?

'I like getting the audience to participate, particularly the children, I love getting them to help me herd the ducks around, and I"m probably going to have a race between the children and the geese.'

Although she clearly enjoys the fun aspect of country shows, she is also deadly serious about her work, an is a former champion on TV institution 'One Man and his Dog."

To be that dedicated takes a real animal lover at heart and Katy said: 'My dogs are my life really. It"s all about showing the skill of the sheep dogs, but having fun as well.'

The Royal County Game Fair comes to Mapledurham House for the first time this summer, promising a two-day spectacular of outdoor fun and games, bringing the excitement of the countryside alive.

Among the other amazing animals on display will be Ben Potter"s birds of prey.

Ben has been working with birds since he was 14 and said: 'I have a large team of big birds which are not usually seen at off site demonstrations.

'What we offer is different. Rather than falconry, we concentrate on the natural behaviour of these magnificent birds, and show eagles, hawks, falcons owls and vultures in the most natural display of its kind.'
