LOSING pounds is not a recession doom and gloom story for eight slimmers celebrating their new shapes with a charity fashion show today (Saturday).
The seven women and one man who lost weight through diet programme LighterLife will be modelling Debenhams clothes at Reading Town Hall in Blagrave Street.
Spokesman Matt Steele said: 'As well as the catwalk show and stalls, LighterLife Live will feature cha-cha dancers, competitions including the chance to win a Wii Fit, a weight loss hall of fame, pampering sessions from local companies and the opportunity to speak to one of LighterLife"s local counsellors about the diet and how it works.'
The event will be open from 11am-5pm and the fashion show is at 2pm.
Money raised will go to the Duchess of Kent House Hospice in Southcote.
