POLICE sealed off a Pangbourne bank today after lorry crashed into the entrance.
The driver of the lorry was making a delivery to butchers Greens of Pangbourne in Whitchurch Road at 11.10am when the incident happened.
It is understood he was reversing to allow another vehicle to get past and collided with the entrance of the HSBC. Police sealed off the roundabout at the Reading Road-High Street junction and turned customers away because the building was ruled unsafe.
Nobody was injured but police have closed the branch for security reasons.
Workmen arrived just before 1pm to make emergency repairs.
Police spokeswoman, Andrea Bennett said: "Police are on the scene and have talked to the driver, but the bank has been closed because it suffered structural damage and until it is given the all clear, it is deemed unsafe for customers and staff."
