A WOMAN has been arrested in connection with a collision in Whitley in which a pensioner died.

The 27-year-old, from Woodford Green, Essex, was arrested in Illford on Friday, and was released on bail to return to Maidenhead police station on February 3.

The 74-year-old man was in collision with a car at the junction of Shinfield Road and Whitley Wood Road at around 11.15am on December 6.

He died in hospital in Oxford from his injuries on Wednesday last week, and police want to hear from any witnesses to the incident.

Sergeant Sean Collins, who is leading the investigation, said: "We are particularly keen to hear of any sightings of Fiesta-sized vehicles, which were silver or grey or darker in colour, in and around the Shinfield Road area at around 11.15am on December 6."

Contact Sgt Collins via the Thames Valley Police contact centre on 08458 505 505, or charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
