"I live in hope every day - we will bring her home."
That is the emotional pledge of Monique Tennant, whose sister Jacqueline disappeared a year ago in Majorca.
The 46-year-old from Lower Earley had been working at Alcudia Bay on the island as a holiday rep when she went missing on October 8 after going for a mountain walk near C'an Picafort.
Monique said: "It's been a difficult year for all of us. I've been travelling back and forth to Majorca, but no-one seems to have seen or heard anything despite all the posters and everything, and I've even organised mountain searches.
"We love her, we miss her and we're not going to stop trying to find her. We're going to keep going. It's my sister so I have to find her."
She is flying out again to Majorca this weekend to follow up a new lead - a woman there has just told Monique she saw someone a few months ago who looks like Jacqueline, but who seemed mentally incapacitated.
Previous leads have come to nothing, but Monique's hard work turned up discrepancies in the police investigation and in June she met a judge who is making them revisit it.
Jacqueline worked as a fitness and swimming instructor around Reading for years, including a three-year stint at Bulmershe Leisure Centre in Woodley. She has family in Jamaica and New York, but Monique and their mum live in south London.
Monique said: "She was a very athletic and active person. Anyone who has someone missing will think to themselves that you will find that person, despite what others may think.
"But I believe this, we will find her and bring her home. I live in hope every day, I can't afford to stop, I love her."
Her family has been getting support from charity Missing People, and its spokesman Brian Cowan said: "We urge anyone with news regarding Jacqueline's disappearance to contact the charity on our 24 hour number.
"All calls are confidential. We hope that this fresh appeal finally brings news for Jacqueline's family."
She is 5ft 4ins tall with brown eyes, short black hair and a slim build.
