DETECTIVES are searching for an attacker who punched a man outside an amusement arcade.

The victim, a 27-year-old Whitley man, suffered a fractured eye socket following the assault, which happened next to the Shipleys Amusement Centre in Friar Street around 1.30am on Monday.

Investigating officer Det Con Pete Watts, of Reading CID, said: "We believe that the offender had an argument with another man shortly before he punched the victim. We are keen to speak to him and a group of two women and a man who comforted the victim."

The offender was white, with blond hair, aged around 25 and wearing a yellow T-shirt.

Call DC Watts on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
