SPRINT to take part in this year's Cancer Research Race for Life in Prospect Park, Southcote, on Sunday.

The last date for entries is tomorrow (Tuesday) [8] at midnight.

The 11am race is already fully booked and there are only a few places left for the 4pm one.

Already 5,600 women have registered to walk, jog or run the 5k course to raise money to research and fight cancer.

Organiser Rosannah Dawood said: "It is such an inspiring and emotional day where women of all ages and abilities come together to make a real difference.

"I'm confident that every one of the remaining places will be filled and urge any women who would still like to enter to do so now."

People who have already signed up can boost their fundraising by setting up a sponsorship website. Visit www.raceforlifesponsorme.org

Cancer Research UK is also recruiting people with breast, lung or prostate cancer in Reading for a clinical trial investigating the best way to relieve pain in patients whose cancer has spread to their bones. It will compare the standard treatment of radiotherapy with drug treatment, to see which is more effective. Visit Cancer Research UK's website, www.cancerresearchuk.org

To sign up for the race, contact Rosannah Dawood on 07918677937, email rosannah.dawood@cancer.org.uk or visit www.raceforlife.org/south or call the hotline on 0871 641 2274.
