The 26-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene on the northbound carriageway between junction 1a, for the M25 and junction 2, Beaconsfield.

The collision took place at around 3.30am this morning and involved a white DAF lorry and a white Mercedes car, which was being driven by the 26-year-old.

The sole occupant and driver of the lorry was a 53-year-old man who was uninjured by the crash.

Ambulance crews and paramedics attended the scene but the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the side of the road.

The man's next of kin have been informed.

Sgt Ed Crofts,of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are very keen to hear from anyone who was travelling on that stretch of road, either north or southbound, at that time and may have seen the collision or either vehicles prior to the incident to please call us as a matter of urgency.”
