Lisa Downing faces a single charge in relation to the crash on February 28 this year.
The front window and shutters of the Christian Community Action shop and Shazz Hair and Beauty were destroyed when a red Peugeot 208 car mounted the pavement around 5.30am.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "Lisa Downing, 29, of Elm Park Road, Reading, has been charged with driving over the legal alcohol limit on February 28.
"She is due to appear before Reading Magistrates Court on Monday, May 18."
