Lily Partridge, English national and inter-counties champion for the 10k, won her first half marathon in spectacular style.
She crossed the line at the Madejski Stadium in one hour, ten minutes and 32 seconds, just 14 seconds ahead of Gladys Yator, who made it in 1.10.46.
She said the experience was "amazing".
She said: "I had no idea what I was doing but I came here to run strong. At 10 miles I caught up to the woman in the lead and we raced for a while but then I pulled in front. I was surprised when I came into the stadium and I won."
This year's route was flatter and faster than last year's, when Susan Partridge won in 1.12.20..
Lily, from Aldershot, said: "It's not something I usually do. I usually just to 10,000m on the track so I don't feel very experienced but I thought I would just give it a go."
