The body of a man was found in woodland next to play area on Christmas Day.
Dog walkers discovered the man, aged in his early 20s.
Emergency services were called to woodland off Amersham Road, in Caversham, but were unable to do anything for the man who was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said officers were called at 3.10pm on Christmas Day for a "fear for welfare".
"Officers attended along with the ambulance service and a man aged in his twenties was found deceased at the scene.
"His next of kin has been informed.
"The death is being treated as unexplained and is not thought to be suspicious."
Investigating officers have compiled a report for the Berkshire Coroner Peter Bedford.
