A PRIMARY school in Tilehurst was evacuated after smoke started billowing from a computer.
Pupils and staff at Meadow Park Academy had to flee the building at around 3pm today after smoke was seen coming from a faulty PC in one of the classrooms.
Staff raised the alarm and firefighters from Wokingham Road and Wokingham rushed to the school in Norcot Road.
The crews went into the classroom and used a thermal imaging camera to find the computer before disconnecting it and taking it outside.
The room was then ventilated before the pupils were allowed to return to class.
No one was injured and the smoke was contained in the one classroom.
