A QUICK-THINKING shopkeeper battled a blaze that broke out in his fuse box last night.
Firefighters were called to the Bluematchbox Pottery Shop, in Tilehurst, at about 9.30pm after an electrical fire broke out in fuse and electric meter box.
The crew from Dee Road rushed to the Halls Road store, but found the shopkeeper had managed to bring the blaze under control with a fire extinguisher. Firefighters used breathing apparatus and a CO2 extinguisher to make sure the fire was properly doused.
