A FAULTY electrical heater sparked a blaze in a home above a Caversham pub last night.
The alarm was raised at around 7pm after the fire broke out in the flat above the Clifton Arms in Gosbrook Road and filled the home with thick black smoke.
Firefighters from Dee Road and Wokingham rushed to the pub but on arrival they found that the landlord’s husband had used a fire extinguisher to douse the flames.
The man was treated by paramedics while firefighters checked the blaze was out and cleared the flat of smoke.
