A MAN has been arrested in connection with a woman being threatened with a knife near the Kennet and Avon Canal.
Ryan Lockyer, of Castle Hill, was arrested on Friday and charged the next day with kidnap and falsely imprisoning a person with intent to commit a sexual offence, threats to kill and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
The charges relate to an incident between 3.45pm and 4.15pm on Tuesday last week when a woman was threatened while walking along the canal near Fobney Lock.
Lockyer, 21, appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Saturday where he was remanded in custody to appear at Reading Crown Court on Monday, November 3.
