A £102,000 resurfacing blitz of 33 pavements across the borough begins today.
Work to prepare for the four-week repair blitz has already begun, and the resurfacing programme begins today with Southcote Road and St Saviour’s Road.
Neighbours in the 33 streets set to be resurfaced will be sent a letter detailing when the work will take place, while advance warning signs will be put up in the roads as well.
Borough transport leader Cllr Tony Page stressed the work coincides with the resurfacing of 19 main roads and 27 residential roads throughout the borough. He added: “That was a £1.38m investment to benefit all road users in Reading.
“The resurfacing of pavements in residential streets is also a major piece of work the council is carrying out to benefit all pedestrians, and of course local residents who live in those streets.
“I’d like to thank residents for their patience and co-operation during the period whilst these improvements works take place.”
