The incident happened at about 10pm at the Sportsman pub in Shinfield Road, Whitley, where the windows of a silver Ford Transit van were smashed using a metal pole.
Police are appealing to the public for any information about the altercation.
There are descriptions of some of the offenders: - White man with black hair and facial hair. He was of a large build and was about 45, wearing a black vest top.
- White man with black hair and of a large build. He was aged about 40 and was wearing a white vest top.
- White man with black hair and facial hair and of a large build. He was about 35 and was wearing a green vest top.
- White man with dark brown perm-like hair and brown facial hair. He was of a slim build and was about 25.
- White man with brown hair that was shorter on the sides and longer on the top. He was of a medium build.
There were also believed to be at least two women involved in the altercation. A number of the people involved are believed to have had Irish accents.
A 31-year-old man, a 34-year-old man and a 36-year-old man, all from Reading, were arrested in connection with the incident and were released on bail until Sunday, August 3.
