A TRAPPED hawk was rescued by firefighters today after it got its straps tangled in a tree branch in Earley.
The Harris Hawk was found by a middle-aged couple who were alerted by a commotion in their garden in The Drive at around 11am and when they went outside they found the bird was being attacked by crows.
Firefighters from Caversham Road rushed to the scene and found the hawk’s jesses had become tangled around a branch and called in a falconry expert to help with the rescue.
Using a ladder a firefighter climb the tree and untangled the hawk which was unharmed and passed on to the expert to help find its owner.
