FIREFIGHTERS battled a kitchen fire in Earley after a dishwasher burst into flames last night.
The alarm was raised by the female occupant who fled the terraced house in Barbel Close after her smoke alarms went off at around 10.30pm.
Firefighters from Caversham and Wokingham Road rushed to the scene and used breathing apparatus, a hose reel and CO2 extinguisher to douse the flames which caused serious smoke damage to the kitchen.
