SPORTING bare-chested sparkling sequins, skintight trousers and lashings of fake tan, Robbie Savage was still wearing more than the last time he set foot on the Madejski Stadium turf.
Five months after leaving the pitch wearing nothing more than his briefs - having thrown the rest of his kit into the crowd to mark his final appearance for Derby County before retiring from the game - the latest Strictly Come Dancing star was back and ready to show off his twinkle toes.
Robbie and dance partner Ola Jordan warmed up fans on Tuesday [18] with a hot tango routine, strutting and stomping around the pitch as ABBA's Gimme Gimme Gimme blasted over the speakers.
The couple, who nearly blew their pitch-perfect halftime performance when they missed the train from London, got a standing ovation in a rare display of unity between fans of the Royals and the Rams before the resumption of normal hostilities during a four-goal second half.
The former Welsh international also showed he was not afraid of scuffing his dancing pumps by taking a turn between the posts while Reading substitute Noel Hunt warmed up.
Tweeting to fans during the second-half, Robbie said: "A big thank you to Reading Football Club, fantastic support, and from the Derby fans!"
Ola tweeted: "I loved it tonight! My first ever football game! Thanks for cheering."
The routine was filmed by the BBC and is due to be shown on the show on Saturday. [22]
