DESPERATE parents are staking a claim to open a new secondary school to solve a long-running school places crisis in villages south of Reading.
The West Of Wokingham (WOW) campaign will submit an application to the Department for Education next week to set up its own school free of local authority control.
If accepted, it would draw youngsters from an area stretching from Beech Hill in the west to Arborfield in the east
