HUNDREDS of people of all ages were united in remembrance at Reading's Brock Barracks today (Sunday)
Servicemen and women, cadets, veterans, families and politicians gathered at the Oxford Road barracks to remember those who lost their lives in war.
Leading the service, Reverend Adam Carlill said: "We come from many different backgrounds, cultures and religions and it is in remembrance that we are united."
During the service, poppy wreaths were laid at the foot of the barracks' war memorial by the Thames Valley Western Front Association, West Reading Royal British Legion and the 2nd Reading Girl Guides, among others.
Afterwards, soldiers from 7 Rifles Headquarters Company, based at the barracks, led a march past on the parade ground.
Reading mayor, Gul Khan, joined 7 Rifles commanding officer, Lieutenant Colonel Paul Uden, in taking the salute.
Speaking afterwards, Rifleman Jason Paxford, 25, from West Reading, said: "It's nice to see so many people.
"It's for our fallen comrades who paid the ultimate sacrifice. We must always remember them."
Other Remembrance services took place in Burghfield, Tilehurst, Caversham and Pangbourne.
