A VAN fire that is believed to have been started deliberately was extinguished by firefighters before it spread to the house next to it.
Two fire crews from Dee Road and Whitley Wood fire stations rushed to the fire in Meadow Way, Theale, at 4.30am this morning (Sunday).
The blaze was contained to the van, a Peugeot Boxer, which was in a parking area, and firefighters extinguished the fire before it spread to the house next to it.
Firefighters were there for about an hour.
Crew manager Rob Read, from Dee Road fire station, said: “We think it was deliberate. And it was in danger of spreading to the house next door. When we had a look after the fire was out the window seams on the house had started to melt. It was quite serious.”
