PAINT cans fed 15ft flames as firefighters battled to control a shed blaze.

The accidental fire in Bishop's Road, East Reading, kept the fire crew from Whitley Wood station busy from 9.30-11pm on Wednesday. The homeowner had been burning papers earlier in the day but the smouldering blaze had spread along peat in the garden to reach the shed.

Crew manager James Blake said: "The fire could have spread to adjacent sheds but we stopped it."
