CLIMATE campaigners delivered more than 170 postcards from residents to councillors to keep up the pressure on cutting emissions.

Enrico Petrucco, from Reading Friends of the Earth, said: "We are pleased to see the positive actions that Reading Borough Council is already taking toward a more sustainable Reading.

"We encourage the public to take action whenever possible to show support for these key issues."

Borough environment leader Cllr Paul Gittings said climate change was an "urgent priority" for the council and that it has backed the 10:10 campaign to cut emissions by 10% this year.
