The young girl was hit by a silver car in London Road near Palmer Park at around 5.30pm last week and sustained cuts and bruises.
After being taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital as a precaution the youngster was later discharged.
The vehicle that collided with the girl was turning out of St Bartholomew’s Road heading away from the town centre at the time of the crash.
Officers wish to speak with a women who is believed to have been driving the car as although she did stop following the incident, no details were taken.
Both lanes of the stretch of London Road opposite Palmer Park were temporarily closed to traffic as Thames Valley Police and South Central Ambulance Service staff worked on the scene.
