At around 5.15pm on Tuesday an Asian man in his forties or fifties snatched the glasses off a 41-year-old man in the British Heart Foundation store in Oxford Road before an altercation broke out.
The smartly dressed man then went on to swear at a number of other customers and shout racial slurs.
He is described as clean shaven with a shaven head and was carrying a laptop style shoulder bag at the time.
*A 51-year-old man from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence and bailed until June 22.
