* AS a parent campaigning to remain in the designated area for our closest secondary school Maiden Erlegh, which is a 15 minute walk from our house rather than Bulmershe which would take 40 minutes to walk to, I feel the declaration of ‘Wokingham schools for Wokingham children’ from parents wishing to gain inclusion into the Maiden Erlegh Catchment area is very unfair, as WBC council tax payers are not footing the bill for Reading pupils attending Maiden Erlegh or any other WBC schools.
Are they also suggesting that our children shouldn’t be allowed to attend Bulmershe?
The proposed changes to exclude those outside of Wokingham Borough Council from the Maiden Erlegh designated area seems to discriminate against those living in Reading Borough.
