* THE proposed changes to designated areas for Wokingham schools make a lot of sense.
The logic boils down to this: why should some children have to travel three miles to school and others travel 1.5 miles, when a solution exists that would let all children travel 1.5 miles?
The proposed solution is much, much fairer on this basis alone. I think it is clear that those parents in East Reading who object to the change do so because they want their children to go to what they perceive as a “better” school, regardless of the impact it has on other local residents.
